Scene Analysis Sheet:
1. The budget tier we have chosen is a high school theatre budget.
2. We are designing a proscenium stage for this play.
3. We have multiple sets. One set is of a road and sidewalk. The other one, the stage is split in half with the main level on the left and the attic on the right.
4. N/A
5. For our design project, we are choosing to draw an aerial and a front view of the road and sidewalk because a lot of the action scenes take place on the road and it is important to understand the audience's view as well as the aerial view for producing purposes.
6. Several action scenes take place in the road. A "bomb" goes off, Nancy and Corky almost get hit by a car, and several other scenes.
7. Our set is only one level, but we split the stage in half to have the main level on the left and the attic on the right. We chose not to do a multi-level set because it wouldn't be easy for the actors to get to and from the levels with the action that takes place and we only have a high school budget.
8. All of our needed set pieces are: a lamp post, a bench, shrubs, a bed, unique boxes, a night stand, a clock, wall picture, and a vase with flowers.
9. We plan to have a backdrop for the road set with painted trees and hills. We also plan on having a 'stand' for the Chinese Box Shop.
10. We have the stage split in half into the main level on the left and the attic on the right, in case it wasn't clear in the floor plan.
11. We would describe the overall tone for the scene as mysterious, spooky, and suspenseful.
